Sales Export Manager

Our client is looking for a dynamic and driven Sales Export Manager to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading company in the adhesive industry, renowned for its innovative solutions and commitment to quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding the company's global footprint, ensuring product distribution aligns with strategic goals, and building lasting relationships with international partners.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Export Strategies: Craft comprehensive export strategies that align with the companys objectives. Analyze market trends, identify new market opportunities, and recommend effective penetration strategies.
  • Sales and Distribution Management: Oversee the distribution of adhesive products across various international markets. Ensure sales targets are met or exceeded while managing the complexities of export logistics and compliance.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with distributors, agents, and clients globally. Serve as the primary point of contact for international stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting: Conduct detailed market analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the adhesive sector. Prepare and present reports on market analysis, sales forecasts, and revenue to senior management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all export activities comply with international laws and regulations. Stay abreast of changes in export/import legislation and implement necessary adjustments to business practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product development, and logistics teams to ensure a cohesive approach to international sales and distribution.
Key Skills
  • Strong technical/industrial experience needed.
  • excellent knowledge on different types of glues/adhesives.
  • sound knowledge of different types of textures, such as wood, plastic, paper and cartoning boxes and boards. The rep would need to know what type of glue will match the various different textures according to the customers business products.
  • Lab/Chemical experience would be very advantageous. This rep will constantly liaise with our lab to find the best possible solution and adhesive that will meet the clients requirements which will be in direct competition with our competitors.
  • Candidate must have paper/cardboard knowledge
  • Must have knowledge of different types of adhesives and must know what type of adhesive to recommend for various substances/surfaces such as wood/timber/acrylic/paper/corrugated packaging etc.
  • Candidates should preferably come from these industries: Packaging/Wood/Chemical Industries.
  • Excellent organizational skills and well developed interpersonal, communication and selling skills.
  • Looking for a more strategic thinker.
Qualifications
  • Min 5 years technical sales experience required in this or similar Industry with a proven track record i.e. Paper & Packaging or chemicals.
  • Preferably existing customer contacts and market knowledge.
  • A technical background in chemistry or related industries.
  • Knowledge in the adhesives industry preferable but not mandatory.
  • Technical and/or Sales & Marketing post matric qualification advantageous.
  • Must have experience and exposure working in African countries and possibly travelling into Africa +/-50 % of his time.
  • Ability to speak Portuguese will be advantageous.
