Field Sales Engineer - Automotive Aftermarket

OSRAM, a leader in innovative automotive lighting solutions, is globally recognized for enhancing mobility safety and comfort. With a strong commitment to innovation, our Middle East & Africa Automotive Aftermarket division is expanding, and we are seeking a visionary Field Sales Engineer to drive growth in South Africa and neighboring markets.
As the Field Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping OSRAMs presence across South Africa and regional markets. Your mission will be to drive the growth of our Automotive Aftermarket portfolio by building strong relationships with key accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and executing strategic plans to achieve market leadership.
This position requires a strategic thinker and hands-on leader with a passion for customer success, profitability, and innovation in the automotive industry.
  • Strategic Account Management: Build, manage, and develop strong relationships with key accounts within the automotive aftermarket industry. Collaborate with partners to ensure alignment with OSRAMs strategic goals
  • Market Growth & Business Development: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to expand OSRAMs market share in South Africa and neighboring countries. Leverage market insights to penetrate untapped segments and geographies
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key accounts, driving sales growth and optimizing marketing investments. Align strategies with OSRAMs regional and global objectives
  • Sales Growth & Marketing Initiatives: Plan and execute promotional activities to boost sales and increase brand visibility. Conduct ROI analyses to ensure the effectiveness of campaigns and optimize resources
  • Customer Insights & Analysis: Analyze customer strategies, market trends, and competitive dynamics to tailor OSRAMs value propositions. Perform benchmarking and identify gaps for business opportunities
  • Contract Negotiations & Deal Management: Lead negotiations on contracts, tenders, and pricing agreements, ensuring favorable outcomes while fostering long-term partnerships
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Prepare and present monthly reports on key metrics, including revenue, profit, market share, and account performance
Profile description:
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in the Automotive Aftermarket industry
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of closing high-value deals and managing tenders
  • Demonstrated ability to create win-win solutions and foster collaborative relationships
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential, Afrikaans is a plus
  • Knowledge of South Africas automotive market and regional regulations is an advantage
