Financial Accountant

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and regulatory compliance, while supporting management decision-making in a high-volume POS and payments environment, transaction-driven fintech business.

The responsibilities of the position include:

Prepare monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with IFRS
Reconcile POS transactions, merchant settlements, and clearing accounts
Manage debtors, stock, fixed assets, and chargebacks/refunds
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash movements
Prepare VAT reconciliations and support tax, audit, and regulatory reporting
Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
Drive process improvements and system alignment with transactional platforms

In order to be considered for the position, the following requirements must be met:

BCom Accounting / SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA (advantageous)
35 years financial accounting experience
Experience in POS, payments, banking, fintech, or high-volume transactional environments
Strong IFRS and VAT knowledge
Advanced Excel skills (Power BI advantageous)
Experience with card schemes (Visa/MasterCard) and merchant acquiring advantageous
Strong analytical and communication skills
