Job Description

The Master Data Finance Analyst is the custodian of Finance Master Data. They play a key role in Master Data Management process execution in support of the Anglo-American Global Master Data Process. The Master Data Finance Analyst maintains data, analyses data, develops / manages tools to build data standards and continuously improves Master Data quality against those standards.

KEY TASKS
  • Create and maintain finance master data elements in SAP including GL accounts, cost centres, profit centres, etc.
  • Contribute to defining global finance master data standards
  • Ensure the correct master data set up according to master data standards
  • Perform audits and cleansing of existing master data elements to maintain data integrity and quality
  • Perform data quality assessments
  • Check uniqueness and consistency of data
  • Support improvement and process optimisation projects
  • Apply technical knowledge to determine business implications of change requests
  • Define and implement efficient and effective processes for the creation and maintenance for core finance master data objects
  • Document the creation and maintenance of processes in DTPs / Process Flows
  • Ensure smooth operations throughout the product lifecycle by serving as center of expertise for maintaining S/4HANA finance master data attributes according to defined local and global standards
  • Ensure compliance with Group Policies and regulatory requirements (including record management) and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within finance
  • Facilitation of workshops with operational teams and clients to identify process improvements;
  • Standardising and optimising processes;
  • Determine inefficiencies, propose process-improvement measures and monitor implementation;
  • Work with Operational Managers to identify process issues and risks;
  • Identification and application of best practice to ensure optimal processes.
  • Ensure processes are current;
  • Develop standards, procedures and guidelines for processes;
  • Ensure that all processes and work instructions as defined and approved are uploaded on the portal in collaboration with Functional Learning and or on WPB;
  • Ensure that process changes are affected in accordance with change management principles;
  • Follow a structured process to document process requirement;
  • Maintain the process inventory and supporting documents;
  • Responsible for supporting and enabling the planning and execution on all relevant process roll-outs and process improvements.
  • Demonstrate behaviour in line with health, safety and environmental standards and with the Groups values;
  • Participate as an effective team member in working collaboratively with your leader, peers and relevant others (including from other teams) to achieve business goals
Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or comprehensive experience in a financial discipline (BCOM Accounting /BCOMPT/BCOM(HONS)
Experience
  • 1 - 2 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated functional accounting experience in a similar environment
  • Transactional SAP experience within the SAP FICO module, including master data management
  • Experience performing data audits and quality assessments
  • Experience performing key controls
