We are looking for a young and dynamic freelance textile designer with the ability to conceive innovative ideas and develop commercially appealing designs or prints for a variety of fabrics.

Opportunity requirements:
- Good understanding of interpreting briefs from client
- Skills and talent to develop new textile designs based on the brief
- Ability to recommend the best materials to suit the execution
- Use of computer software applications to bring concepts to life
- Demonstrate a good understanding of trends in prints and patterns
- Willing to experiment with colour, fabric and texture (Important)
- Have up-to-date knowledge of new design and production techniques and textile technology
- Experience of using different textile processes and techniques
- Computer literacy and use of Photoshop, Illustrator and other relevant software
Minimum requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in textiles or related field
- Must have knowledge of printing methods ensuring a printable end product
- Must have at least 1 to 3 years textile design experience
Required skills:
- Creative flair and artistic ability
- A good eye for colour, texture, fabrics and patterns
- Excellent attention to detail
- An interest in fashion and textiles, and an understanding of trends and materials
- Understanding using different textile processes and techniques
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work within various budgets
Salary: Freelance hourly rate negotiable
