Job Description
The Organisation requires the services of a Head: Business Development in the Tourism and Marketing Division on a fixed-term contract of 5 years. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and drive a dynamic and innovative commercialisation vision for SANParks with a strong focus on short, medium, and long-term income-generating strategies for tourism business development.
- Implement and monitor the strategic plan for commercialisation in line with SANParks and National Treasury requirements.
- Advise and negotiate on key commercial terms including valuation and deal structure for tourism PPP transactions.
- Ensure that all agreements reached are financially, commercially, and legally sound.
- Ensure sound financial, technical, and legal management of all PPP transactions.
- Manage and retain solid internal and external stakeholder relationships at the strategic level.
- Provide leadership, development, and management of human capital.
- Maintain SANParks leadership in the tourism PPPs environment.
- Be in possession of a Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Corporate Finance Business Administration, or related fields.
- The Masters Degree is desirable in Commerce, Corporate Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Must have 10 12 years of general management experience, a minimum of 5 years should be in a senior management role.
- 5 years of senior management experience in a commercial deal structuring environment either in the private or public sector.
- 5 years experience in business feasibility analysis.
- 2 years experience in commercial contract management and legal environment.
- A sound knowledge of Investment/deal structuring and evaluation.
- A good understanding of capital funding.
- Knowledge of strategic planning.
- Leadership skills.
- Ability to function in a matrix environment.
- Communication skills (verbal and written).
- Financial management skills.
- Conflict management skills.
- Diversity management/change management skills.
- Project management.
- Understanding of tourism and conservation industry.
