Job Description

Swissquote South Africa (Pty) Ltd is a small company in Cape Town with 7 staff including yourself. We are a financial services company in South Africa and form part of the much larger Swissquote Group headquartered in Switzerland. In this role, you will play a crucial part of the team and be responsible for many essential tasks to keep this office successful. We are looking for a self-driven person taking it as his/her responsibility that the back-office operations run smoothly.
  • You will be the administrative link between our headquarter in Switzerland and Swissquote South Africa on many levels. This means that you will be working alongside the specialists in Switzerland (Finance, HR) but also be the point of contact for our local accountant and other services providers such as insurance companies, landlord etc,
  • Responsible for all payment transactions and bank accounts,
  • Prepare and manage accounting records and interact with our external accountant and auditors (maintain electronic and physical records),
  • Oversight of payroll, expense claims, PAYE and SARS payments,
  • Responsible for contracts and the management of our service providers,
  • Assist with the establishment and documentation of new processes,
  • Maintaining various registers necessary to manage a financial services company in South Africa,
  • Preparation of data and records for the consolidated ESG (sustainability) reporting,
  • Manage office tasks such an ordering of stationary but also the procurement of computers for new employees,
  • Assist in organising local team events or events for clients,
  • Assist MD with ad-hoc tasks,
  • Be open to take on additional tasks as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or office management degree with excellent writing and communication skills in English (German or French is an asset),
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position,
  • Good understanding and experience with accounting and finance since this will be a large part of the daily job,
  • Person paying attention to detail and being able to work on their own,
  • Strong team player who enjoys working in a multicultural, dynamic and international environment,
  • A lets do attitude since we are a small and growing team being faced with new challenges and tasks on a daily basis,
  • Advanced level of Excel.
