Head of Sales - TruckStore

Job Overview

To effectively and efficiently manage the key sales performance outputs of the TruckStore Centurion sales division and managing the Agency model to ensure optimal sales performance and attainment of key strategic deliverables as defined by DTSA and aligned to established sales targets and objectives, whilst ensuring compliance to the Company's Integrity & Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy & S.H.E. requirements Delegation of Authority and organisational processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Implementation
Establish and nurture strategic stakeholder relationships to drive key sales performance metrics. Align the business strategy with the used vehicle sales strategy. Prepare presentations and support strategic projects.
  • Performance Management
Collaborate with agents to monitor stock levels and forecast sales. Implement corrective actions where necessary to meet targets. Foster strong stakeholder relationships and ensure achievement of sales and stock KPIs aligned with the Centurion Sales division.
  • Agent Support
Provide general support to agents, including tasks not explicitly listed.
  • Sales & Finance Administration
Ensure Centurion and agents have access to all necessary information for efficient sales transactions. Facilitate compliant and streamlined communication between customers, agents, and TruckStore. Ensure timely resolution of inquiries and accurate commission payments.
  • Operational Excellence
Support asset management and stock sourcing. Maintain optimal stock levels and mix, adhere to procurement and logistics processes, and minimize vehicle risk. Ensure efficient sales processes and prompt issue resolution.
  • Systems & Process Optimization
Enhance collaboration with value chain partners and business administration. Strengthen dealer interfaces for used vehicle management and promote digitalization of processes.
  • Customer Care
Ensure professional interactions with all customers. Address inquiries and complaints promptly. Implement and monitor control systems in line with TruckStore procedures.
  • General Administration
Maintain accurate records and documentation per TruckStore standards. Adhere to Delegation of Authority (DOA) guidelines. Share relevant information promptly and ensure compliance in all communications.
  • People Management
Set clear KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and take action based on outcomes. Identify training needs and coordinate development initiatives. Hold regular team meetings to boost communication and motivation. Manage daily activities in line with KPIs.
  • Integrity & Compliance
Foster a culture of integrity and compliance. Promote transparency, recognize compliance achievements, and address misconduct appropriately. Implement internal controls and risk mitigation measures. Complete required training on time.
  • Profitable Growth
Drive new business through agent network support and regular dealer engagement. Assist in stock sourcing and participate in sales campaigns. Provide monthly progress reports with action plans to meet sales targets and manage stock aging. Support marketing efforts to grow the TruckStore brand locally and internationally.

Qualifications:
  • Matric + 3-year relevant qualification.
  • Valid Code 14 License and PDP an advantage.
Experience:
  • 5-8 Years Automotive (Commercial Vehicle) experience in dealer network operations, sales, support environment.
  • Computer literacy (Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Power Point).
Special Knowledge and Skills:
  • Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of the technical aspects and product features of commercial vehicles.
  • Core Competencies: Strong communication, analytical thinking, planning, and management capabilities.
  • Sales Expertise: Proficient in sales processes, systems, and methodologies.
  • Relationship & Negotiation Skills: Skilled in building and managing relationships, with a strong aptitude for sales and negotiation.
  • Key Attributes: Results-driven, detail-oriented, customer-focused, with strong conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Professional Skills: Competent in business writing, negotiation, problem-solving, networking, and maintaining professional business etiquette.
  • Strategic Understanding: In-depth knowledge of sales and marketing principles, organizational strategy, internal policies and procedures, and corporate governance standards
