A privately-owned property rental company that leverages technology to provide commercial accommodation and is a company that purchases and renovates buildings within the CBD of cities and converts them into apartments. These furnished apartments are available for rent monthly to the public. The organization has proven that their business model of providing affordable accommodation to people who want to work and play in the city works. The company has been working on developing the correct tech to support their business operations and their tech savvy market.

Plans the Technology strategy to innovate and develop the company’s internal technology and external technology platform to align with the business strategy and create a market differentiator in company product. This executive role leads and develops technology infrastructure, eliminates security risks, increases customer and user satisfaction. This individual guides development and Innovation to be a market differentiator.

Role and Responsibilities

 

Firm Leadership

Makes decisions promptly and effectively by building consensus among partners, managers, and employees.

Engages strategic planning process to ensure smooth running IT functionality

Communicates and implement vision and strategic plan.

Oversees and manages resources in the areas of IT, Innovation, Development, and social media.

Provides leadership and guidance for the technology function

Manages resources in Innovation, Infrastructure and Development, including recruitment of appropriate skills, performance management and delivery of the department

Manages department budget

Financial Performance

Supports and advises the CEO in decision making.

Works with the CEO to establish a financial plan that achieve financial goals, including expenditures, revenue goals, and staff productivity goals.

Prepares and manages the budget for the department and prepares forecasts

Authorizes expenditures and purchases within the budget and gains approval for any expenditures outside of the budget from the CEO

Technical Responsibility

Develops and evolves a strategy around the Application

Develops and manages SMART metrics for hardware, software and storage

Plans around capacity of resources

Directly manages the IT department, including Innovation and Development of the Application

Manages the performance of employees in the IT team

Collaborates with other departments around IT requirements, customer needs and experience requirements

Reports to Managing Executive and Board as required

Determines the business requirements for IT systems

Ensures appropriate exposure to and management of social media

Co-ordinates IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as possible

Researches and recommends new technology solutions, software and hardware – stays abreast of technology development

Recommends salaries, bonuses and raises for department with input from HR and the CEO for approval.
