Minimum Requirements
- Curriculum Vitae
- Certified copy of Matric Certificate and ID
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid Code B Drivers Licence and reliable own transport
- Fluent communication in English and Afrikaans (written and verbal)
- Clear criminal record
- Demonstrated discipline, punctuality, and loyalty
- Overall management of the companys Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and relevant regulations.
- Implementation, management, and maintenance of all applicable legislative health and safety requirements.
- Compilation, management, and maintenance of all project-specific safety files in line with legal and client requirements.
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments (HIRA) for company projects and sites as required, including task-specific method statements; this may require travel to various sites.
- Auditing and reviewing safety files upon project completion.
- Monitoring and recording Supervisor safety performance for inclusion in future KPI evaluations.
- Conducting incident investigations, compiling formal reports, and distributing findings to relevant team leaders to promote preventative learning.
- Management and maintenance of the companys HSEC Online System, ensuring all documentation and records are current and compliant.
- Liaising with client safety officers/agents and representing the company during onsite safety audits when required.
- Continuous review and updating of company health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Identifying employee skills development and training needs related to health and safety and reporting these to Directors.
- Collaborating with Site Supervisors and Site Managers to continuously improve workplace health and safety standards.
- Initiating and facilitating monthly HSE meetings with all relevant stakeholders and Site Supervisors.
- Management and mentorship of the Junior Safety Officer while employed.
- Uploading, logging, and tracking all Injuries on Duty (IODs) on the Compease system, including follow-ups, documentation, and reporting.
- Proven experience in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (EHS).
- Qualifications and/or training in:
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)
- Incident Investigation
- Fall Protection Planning
- SACPCMP registration (or in process of registration).
- Strong knowledge of industrial and construction safety practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on-site and effectively manage safety protocols in high-risk environments.
- Relevant and recognised certifications in Health and Safety Management will be advantageous.
