Business Developer - Offshore

What's the Role?

The Business Developer - Offshore is responsible for driving sales with our key Offshore owners in Africa by placing Hiltis products & solutions as well as developing long-term standards. You will coordinate all project activities between involved Business Developers, local Offshore Sales Teams & Technical Services to enable sustainable value-creation for the customers.

What does the role involve?

In this role, you will be accountable for the development of African accounts (Owners) operating in the Offshore business through standardization, project specification, sales development (direct or indirect) and multi-level relationship management, in order to increase Hilti share of wallet.

The BD is accountable for the development of the strategy of the assigned accounts, leading its implementation locally through Hilti counterparts globally. Furthermore, you will take ownership of the account project pipeline and proactive build-up of Hilti capture teams to drive the aligned focus projects and increase share of wallet. This will be achieved by bringing market intelligence to the team to confirm and/or update corporate segment strategies while maintaining effective communication with the Hilti team and acting as owner of assigned accounts.

What you need is:
  • Engineering Degree; Mechanical Engineering Degree is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of the Offshore industry with minimum 5 years working experience
  • Commercial awareness and competitive drive
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English
  • Must demonstrate learning agility and capacity to tackle sophisticated challenges
  • Passion for customer through high level relationship building
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel within Africa for up to 70% of the time
