Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our client's team in the civil industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment used in construction projects.
As a Diesel Mechanic in the Civil/Construction industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of construction machinery and vehicles. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, and performing necessary repairs and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel-powered construction equipment and vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a timely manner
- Replace faulty parts as needed
- Ensure efficient operation of machinery and vehicles to minimize downtime
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
- N4 certificate or similar/relevant qualification as a Diesel Mechanic
- Trade Test: Diesel Mechanic is necessary
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in the civil/construction industry would be advantageous
- Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
- Knowledge on health and safety processes and policies
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience in maintaining Paver, ATV, Milling Machine and Rollers would be advantageous
- Code 10 or 14 driver's license
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans (Xhosa also disadvantageous)
- Salary: negotiable.
