HOD Production and Repairs

Position Overview

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an HOD of Production Integration and Repairs to work in a highly technical environment.

Required Skills And Capabilities

• At least 12-15 years work experience, with a minimum of 4-5 years in the position of production manager in a similar environment, where exposure to underground mining machines is preferred
• GCC factories is preferred
• Exposure to machine integration processes
• Familiar with Quality Assurance / Quality Control Processes and ensuring their holistic integration into the processes
• Experience with Trackless mining machinery is a pre-requisite
• Experience / Exposure with the operating environment of the products we manufacture carries a high preference
• Experience / Exposure with the maintenance and repairs of mechanized mining equipment both at operations and at rebuild plants
• Self-driven, pro-active individual that is performance driven.
• Able to work in a stressful environment where cost, quality and time are all key performance indicators
• Ideal individual is one who can combine the application of processes and procedures to a passion for excelling in the execution of the works culminating in arriving at products which can be benchmarked on a global stage with respect to quality of build (and capability)
• Good motivating capable leading skills
• Person that is able to recognize the opportunity of working in a niche market and establishing himself /herself as a successful individual in the industry
• Innovative, and open to adopting new technologies and driven to keep processes and execution at the avant-garde of available technology
• Competent with procurement and logistics management within the framework of a machine integration operation/s
• Comfortable with engaging with clients, suppliers, partners, employees, employees representatives and stakeholders in the execution of his/her duties
• Understanding of basics of SA labour law and applicability in the scope of responsibility
• Creating an environment focussed on achieving success by striving to extract the best out of a (motivated) team that report to him

Qualifications/Experience

• Engineering degree, specialization and experience in a production environment.
• MBA or equivalent or supplementary studies in cost accounting is a pre-requisite
