HR Officer / HR Generalist Head Office
Location: Bellville, Cape Town
Salary: Market-related salary, dependent on experience + benefits
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate HR Generalist to join our dynamic and fast-paced HR department. This full-time role is based at our Head Office in Bellville and is ideal for a well-rounded HR professional who enjoys a people-focused, operational environment and enjoys partnering with management to drive effective people practices.
Key Purpose of the Role
The HR Generalist will be responsible for ensuring the consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures, maintaining operational compliance, mitigating risk, and providing daily HR support to management. This role serves as a vital link between employees and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide, support, and mentor line management to promote healthy and compliant people practices
- Facilitate conflict resolution, conciliation, and disciplinary processes where required
- Provide employee relations and Industrial Relations support, advice, and guidance to management
- Ensure fair and consistent application of discipline and maintain accurate statistical records
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle in line with company policies, working closely with line managers to secure the best talent efficiently
- Ensure induction and training processes are effective and well implemented
- Build strong employee relationships through regular branch visits and proactive engagement
- Communicate payroll-related changes accurately and timeously to Head Office
- Manage and support the performance appraisal process
- Drive initiatives to maintain high staff morale and low employee turnover
- Analyse HR metrics and trends to support strategic people management decisions
- Attend to all other ad hoc HR-related duties as required
- Relevant three-year diploma or degree in Human Resources
- 35 years experience in an HR Generalist or similar role within a fast-paced environment
- Proven experience managing the full recruitment process
- Working knowledge of Industrial Relations and employee relations processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Experience with SAGE People and ESS will be advantageous
