Our organisation is looking for an experienced and passionate People Specialist: Industrial Relations to ensure fair and equitable industrial relations practices and procedures in accordance with the relevant labour legislation. As a People Specialist: Industrial Relations, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
Advise and Guideline Managers and HR on all IR Related Matters
- Advise on matters pertaining to disciplinary procedures and preparation for any disciplinary action
- Draft and advise line managers and HR on appeal procedures, incapacity related matters and the no fault termination process
- Advise company of potential risks and remedies pertaining to CCMA cases
- Advise on general concerns with general conditions of employment issues
- Ensure that all IR related cases are captured on the system and that documents are filed and kept safe
- Ensure that union membership details are kept up to date
- Ensure that monthly IR reports are compiled and timeously submitted to the business
- Represent the company at all types of CCMA proceedings
- Liaise with the CCMA regarding pending cases
- Ensure that CCMA awards are actioned on time
- Facilitate and draft correspondence with CCMA with regards to
- Identify learner needs pertaining to IR related matters through identifying trends in cases lost
- Ensure that IR training material is up to date
- Initiate the scheduling of IR refresher training
- Facilitate IR training and up skilling at Group level
- Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained
- Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures
To qualify for this role, you should have
- 4 - 5 years relevant experience preferably within a unionised retail environment including full function CCMA representation
- Diploma or Degree/NQF level 6 or 7
- Time management
- Analysis & problem solving
- Teamwork & collaboration
- Negotiation skills
- South African labour legislation knowledge
- Track record in representing at CCMA proceedings
