IT Enterprise Applications Manager, Head Office

Main purpose of the job:

The IT Enterprise Applications Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting a range of applications and technology solutions, with a focus on but not limited to ERP, CRM, Access Control, Online and Mobile applications. The IT Enterprise Applications Manager will have overall responsibility for support, maintenance, installation, configuration and deployments of software applications, platform, and programs; as well as enhancements to existing products in line with business needs in a manner that is professional, reliable, and in line with business and regulatory requirements. This will include producing logical and technical application specifications derived from functional specifications.

Additionally, the IT Enterprise Applications Manager will oversee the design of components and relevant databases; and the administration, monitoring, maintenance and updating of the system to ensure sustained and optimal system performance to enable the effective use and application of the systems within the business, while working collaboratively with business units in delivering technical solutions that align to the goals and objectives

This role will be required to ensure all practices are in line with policy, frameworks and tools based on researched leading and industry practice, technical solutions, specialised projects and innovation, and legislative support to advise, enable and support business operations in achieving their objectives

Education and experience:
BTech or Equivalent
Oracle and SQL database certification
TOGAF Certification is an advantage
ERP and CRM certification an advantage
Minimum 12 years' experience within the IT industry is essential including:
Application Architecture experience with practical application of the TOGAF Architecture framework
IT Solution Delivery background (applications integration, business analysis, and deployment)
Experience using various web technologies and mobile initiatives to improve business processes and client interaction
Experience in innovating business models and developing new channels and business transformation
Sound knowledge and understanding of the industry and the evolution of interactive online customer platforms

Key Performance Areas

Understand the IT, technology and business strategies and develop 12- month IT business applications plan and objectives including platform, application, patch, configuration, and capacity management plans to support the operations
Accountable for the availability and performance of the relevant applications and technology solutions, including ownership of incidents and release management
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that proposed solutions align and integrate with information, technology, infrastructure, business, and security architectures
Manage the development, planning, delivery, and modifications of solution components and evaluate and support changes and improvements to all non- gaming and non-hospitality applications and technology solutions
Integrate business continuity and security programmes into application architecture solutions throughout IT systems and platforms to mitigate any identified risks and meet business objectives and regulatory requirements
Determine and facilitate the implementation of all IT application support project requirements, as well as anticipate new changes to regulations, legislation and requirements that will be needed in the future.
Conduct a review of technological and economic feasibility research, manage the investigation into risk and cost-benefit analyses and the design, development or purchase, implementation, and monitoring of business applications.
Conduct proactive investigations and analyses into potential technology application requirements and deliver an IT architecture to support current and future business products, and processes
Manage the application software and licences ensuring the configuration of the environment is in line with best practice
Control and validate systems documentation (incl. source code, technical specifications, release notes, unit test cases, and deployment requirements)
Facilitate release management processes for business applications including the planning, scheduling, and controlling of the movement of releases to test and live environments
Oversee the collaboration with the business support development team to receive and prioritise briefs from business to design, deliver and support various business applications, and deliver each element to specifications to support requirements across the business
Facilitate brainstorming sessions to share new design concepts, perspectives, and ideas, defining and updating IT technical specification requirements to meet business requirements
Manage the framework, system architecture and governance standards with regards the technical design and development of various applications, in alignment with strategic objectives and plans
Be available as a subject matter expert and oversee the resolution of any system challenges and issues experienced, as well as the optimisation of application performance
Supervise the team in designing and developing components for the various applications in line with best development practices and ensuring the delivery of quality software
Quality assures and test solutions before delivery to the business
Manage the relationship with the support team around any obstacles, challenges, or delays
Report on completed projects, costings and progress against pre-defined budgets and deadlines
Commission, edit, and test solutions developed by third-party service providers when required ensuring it meets business specifications and standards
Supervise staff conditions of employment, e.g., attendance, absenteeism, leave, adherence to policies and procedures of the Enterprise Applications team
Conduct performance management with the team, including the identification of employee training needs, on the job training and coaching to close developmental gaps and build succession for a talent pipeline
Manage SLA to deliver to internal customers around technical requirements and support
