IT Field Support Engineer (L1)

MS Engineer (L1) is responsible for providing a managed service to clients to ensure that their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational. Through the proactive monitoring, identifying, investigating and resolving of technical incidents and problems, the MS Engineer (L1) are able to restore service to clients. Their primary objective is to proactively review client requests or tickets and apply technical/process knowledge to resolve them without breaching service level agreement (SLA). The MS Engineer (L1) focuses on second line support for incidents and requests with medium level of complexity.

Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and supports operating systems, database or utilities software. Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions. Analyzes, designs, acquires and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems. Plans, designs, acquires and implements telecommunications voice/wire systems. At higher job levels, may contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set."

Are you ready to join our IT Field Support Engineer team?

As an IT Field Support Engineer, you'll work on a variety of projects and assist in the delivery of our IT Infrastructure & applications. You will be responsible for ensuring that all end-user devices are running smoothly.

You will also be tasked with managing network connectivity for your user base.

In this role, you will interact directly with clients to solve their technical issues as quickly as possible, measured against stringent Service Level Agreements.

In addition, you'll have access to several internal support tools such as Service Now for incident management & request fulfilment.

Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form and be able to convey technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of network troubleshooting procedures, OS and application diagnostics, and data communications protocols.
  • Dedicated to the overall success of the team by working closely with all project members to identify problems, suggest solutions, and then implement ideas/procedures to achieve results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Hardware upgrade, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware devices and hardware installations.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Own reliable transport as this job requires you to travel between sites.
Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office 365 applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in networking, computer systems, or related elds.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • A+, N+, ITIL Foundation certifications are a benefit to the role.
