We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company's IT infrastructure, with a focus on VMware virtualization, networking, and Office 365 administration. The Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate closely with other members of the IT team to ensure that the company's IT systems are always operational, secure, and scalable.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Configure and maintain backup and recovery systems.
- Experience with network security protocols and tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software).
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Knowledge of server hardware and storage systems (e.g., RAID, SAN, NAS).
- Experience with monitoring and performance optimization tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux.
- Understanding of database administration principles (e.g., SQL, MySQL, Oracle).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain the company's VMware virtualization infrastructure, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Design and deploy networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs, and ensure that they are always secure and up-to-date.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues and collaborate with other team members to identify and resolve root causes.
- Work with the IT team to manage and maintain the company's Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
- Develop and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to virtualization, networking, and cloud services.
- Provide on-call support as needed.
