Junior IT Support Technician

Technical Support
  • Configure and install software and hardware components to ensure usability.
  • Understanding of WANs, LANs, emails, telecoms, and internet connectivity.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues for Windows.
  • Administer Microsoft 365.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot JumpCloud, Active Directory, and network related concerns.
  • Troubleshoot, Restore or replace faulty or damaged hardware.
System Security & Maintenance
  • Ensure electrical safety standards are consistently met.
  • Safeguard system privacy and security by upgrading anti-virus software and implementing system upgrades.
  • Perform daily backup operations and manage IT security protocols.
Customer Service & Documentation
  • Provide exceptional tech support, acting as the first point of contact for error reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, answering technical queries clearly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure alignment with company and group IT procedures.
Asset Management & Performance Monitoring
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Test and deploy new hardware and software as needed.
  • Monitor service level agreements with IT suppliers.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain IP CCTV systems (advantageous).
  • Provide after-hours support, including weekends and public holidays, as needed.
Requirements

Matric certificate (essential).
  • Related tertiary qualification (essential).
  • A+ and N+ certifications (required).
  • Microsoft Certification (preferred)
