Job description
We are looking for a suitable candidate for an IT Technician Position that will be required to work from Midrand, Gauteng. The candidate must be a dynamic person that displays exceptionally good problem solving skills.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Information Technology Technician based in Midrand. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, offering comprehensive technical support, and providing customer service. The role also involves performing troubleshooting on hardware and software issues, assisting with IT-related training, and ensuring smooth operation of technology systems within the company. The ideal candidate will collaborate with team members to address IT challenges effectively and maintain technology systems at their peak functionality.
Requirements include, but not limited to:
- Clear criminal record
- Own reliable vehicle & valid drivers license
- Minimum of 5 years experience in IT field
- Applicable IT Qualifications (beneficial)
- Data networks knowledge
- Experience in VIP SAGE / Pastel Program related setups / program management
- Microsoft Office Setups & outlook data management (email setups, back-ups).
- Office365 experience
- Windows & macOS (Apple Laptops)
- Liaison with IT Related External Suppliers (Printer setups / Internet Connectivity)
- Internet connectivity knowledge
- Good communication and problem investigation and solving skills
- IT Infrastructure Management & upgrades (harddrive installations and PC Hardware upgrades/repairs)
- Data back-ups and privacy and data protection measures implementation
- Punctual and deadline driven
- General IT Support & remote assistance when required
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support for hardware and software issues
- Strong knowledge of Information Technology, including networks, operating systems, and IT infrastructure
- Experience in Customer Service to assist and communicate effectively with clients and end-users
- Ability to deliver training and guidance to users on system functionalities and IT tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant certifications in Information Technology or related fields (e.g. Microsoft) are a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
