Job Description
Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of an IT Technician for its IT Department in the Group Division. The IT Technician is responsible for all IT Hardware, Software and Network infrastructure, support and related training. This position reports to the IT Manager and carries the TASK Grade T10.
The ideal candidate should have a National Diploma in Information Technology, or a similar relevant field, 2 to 3 years experience in Information Technology support and/or system administration and a valid Drivers License. MCSE would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Timeous response to all IT-related calls (Helpdesk)
- Installations of hardware and software
- Maintain network infrastructure
- Maintain Active Directory
- Maintain IT asset register
- Maintain and ensure backups are done successfully (Veeam)
- Maintain print server and printers
- Support Production IT Infrastructure (Network, servers, scales and printers)
- Maintain virtual server infrastructure (VMWare)
- Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft products and 3rd party products
- Strong computer hardware and software skills
