We are seeking a motivated End-User Computing Support professional for a 6-month contract in Burgersdorp, Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will provide technical support to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems and devices. This role requires a customer-focused mindset, technical competence, and eagerness to grow skills in IT infrastructure and networking.
Key Responsibilities:
End-User Device Support:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, email clients, and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams).
- Set up and troubleshoot network and local printers.
- Deploy software and apply system patches.
- Provide hardware support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity issues on end-user devices.
- Understand IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP basics.
- Trace and test network cables and ports.
- Assist remote engineers with basic switch operations and port activity identification.
- Provide excellent user support with a strong service-oriented mindset.
- Explain technical issues clearly and in simple terms.
- Work efficiently with ticketing systems to manage incidents and requests.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in IT infrastructure and networking.
- Ability to work well under supervision and within team environments.
- Basic understanding of ITIL principles is a plus.
- Proven experience in end-user computing support or similar IT support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Basic networking knowledge (LAN/Wi-Fi troubleshooting, IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) is an advantage.
