Job Description

Octotel is an established and rapidly expanding Open Access Service Provider, specializing in Open Access & GPON connectivity. We are Cape Towns largest Open Access Network focused on both Fibre To The Home (FTTH) and Business (FTTB). Our fibre network has passed over 350 000 homes and businesses in Cape Town. We offer a choice of services from over 65 of the countrys leading Internet Service Providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of network infrastructure and equipment as per site plan.
• Monitor and maintain boot stock for installation team vehicles.
• Responsible for the electrical and hard tool inventory to be used for site installations.
• Adhere to standard health and safety regulations.
• Assisting workers with Equipment.
• Learning new skills from experienced Technicians.
• And any other reasonable task.

Requirements

• Matric Certificate or equivalent.
• Tertiary level IT or Telecommunications qualification is preferred.
• A minimum of one year with hands-on fibre experience.
• Experience of at least one year working with generic power tools.
• Valid code 8 driver's license.
• This role involves hands-on, active work and requires a good level of physical fitness to carry out tasks effectively.
