This person, in conjuction with the Health Informatics team at a Corporate level, Assist with the identification and procurement of an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, as well as other IT related clinical applications, that meet the nursing end user as well as company clinical and patient care needs, within ICU
Qualification & Experience
- More than 5 years clinical experience in ICU
- User experience with clinical, hospital and/ or financial applications/systems within a hospital system
- Informatics experience with clinical information system implementation, support and optimisation
- Experience working on and/or implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- 2 -3 years managerial and/or training experience in clinical environment
- Work experience in the South African private healthcare sector
- Experience in healthcare management
- Registered/Professional Nursing qualification
- Nursing specialist qualification in ICU
- Postgraduate degree/ qualification in health informatics
- Clinical data analytics and reporting
- Clinical governance and risk management
- Data governance, standards and regulations affecting the practice of nursing
- Health care information management
- In-depth knowledge of ICU nursing and health care practices, clinical workflow, terminology and standards
- IT Infrastructure components and integration standards
- Knowledge of health information systems and other IT applications in support of clinical and business decisions
- Nursing related informatics
- Proficiency in the protocols, regulatory requirements and emerging trends around the management of electronic health records
- Project management skills, tools and methodologies
- Quality improvement methodologies
- Redesign of clinical processes to improve efficiency and patient care
- Research, report writing and presenting
- Systems thinking with understanding of the interactions and inter-dependencies of business information and events on the operational level
- Training and facilitation methodologies
