We are looking for a competent IT Desktop Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows environments and IT hardware troubleshooting, ensuring seamless support for end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems and related software applications.
- Perform troubleshooting of IT devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, CCTV and access systems, as well as mobile devices.
- Analyze device replacement needs and coordinate procurement processes for IT equipment.
- Manage inventory of IT assets, ensuring accurate records of devices and software licenses.
- Provide on-site support and assistance to users in the Johannesburg office, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Document support activities, solutions, and create user guides for frequently encountered issues.
- Adhere to company IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with security and data protection standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for desktop, laptop, and peripheral hardware.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN).
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting).
- Knowledge of IT devices procurement and asset management processes.
- Understanding of Active Directory for user account management.
- Experience with remote desktop tools for support (e.g., TeamViewer, Remote Desktop).
- Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
- Understanding of basic IT security principles.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL Foundation.
- Experience with MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar IT support role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to provide technical support in an office environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must be willing to work on-site
- The role is based in Johannesburg, with no remote work option.
- Might be required to occasionally travel to our office in Mbombela/Nelspruit
- Applicants must be eligible to work in South Africa.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required, including occasional after-hours support.
