Java DevOps Engineer - Expert (Terraform / Jenkins / HTTPD / SQL)

Our client, a global company whose developer capability is in South Africa, is looking for a Java DevOps Engineer (Hybrid) to join their team who focuses on development and operations for cloud-native enterprise applications.

Essential Skills Requirements:

Minimum of 5 year DevOps experience and 8 year IT working experience
CI/CD pipelines
Container orchestration tool.
Monitoring with the following tools (Graphana, Prometheus, ELK/EFK stack, cloudwatch )
Experience with the following technology is important:

Experience with cloud infrastructure.
Infrastructure as code (Terraform, cloud formation)
Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Sonar)
Apache HTTPD
PostgresSQL
Operating Systems: Strong skills in Linux, CRON and Unix Filesystems
Languages: Scripting in Batch and Shell
Experience with Cloud Infrastructure
Security: Management of Keys, Certificates and Secrets
GITInfrastructure and application monitoring

What will be your role and responsibilities?

Setup and maintain CI/Build pipelines with Jenkins
Setup and maintain deployments
Cloud Infrastructure setup and maintenance
ECS Deployment and Config using Terraform
Incident Management support
Problem
Change Management
Automated System monitoring (e.g., CPU consumption, amount of incident tickets, etc.)
Monitoring with Cloudwatch
Support and implement worldwide rollout projects
Take part in regular Scrum meetings via MS Teams. Daily, Planning, Estimation, Refinement, Review, Retro
Liaise with stakeholders and team members
Support existing solutions, DevOps
Participate in stand-ups.
Analyse and implement new system requirements specifications.
Ensure that all processes are investigated / considered in obtaining the specifications of the user requirements.
Review and present proposals / system solutions to IT Project Lead, DevOps Team, QA Team, and Product Owner / Business team.
Ensure compliance & adherence to standards for audit adherence and quality assurance.
Actively participate and contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, story size estimation, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Update user stories in Jira and documentation in Confluence.
Perform demos of user stories in Agile ceremonies.
Analyse and fix Production Known Errors.
Prepare Production deployment artefacts.
Prepare Production deployment plan documents.
Preparation of system/technical documentation (as per ISO standards).
System implementation / deployment & release activities.
Production support & hyper-care after production deployments.
Applications monitoring.
Site performance analysis (advantageous).
