- Security Manager

Responsibilities
Security:
- Oversee asset protection of both people and staff as well as to prevent theft and inventory/ stock loss.
- Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
- Set and Manage budgets for security operations.
- Prepare reports or make presentations on internal investigations, losses, or violations of regulations, policies and procedures.
- Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using new and established protocols.
- Participate in site Investigations and report on findings.
- Develop work schedules, allocating tasks and monitoring staff performance, setting Budges and contingency planning procedures.
- Create or implement security standards, policies, and procedures
- Write and review security-related documents, such as incident reports, proposals, and tactical or strategic initiative.
- Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures.
- Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches and coordinate appropriate response.
- Monitor and manage security policies, programs or procedures to ensure compliance with internal security policies, licensing requirements, or applicable government security requirements, policies, and directives.
- Conduct physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Random Stock Counts as and when required at all Warehousing Sites.
- Important site visits and discussions with Warehouse Managers to take the lead and resolve with approvals any improvement always following capex approvals.
- Provide warehouse managers with the report feedback regarding site-investigations.
- Analyse and track costings and expenses on maintenance, installations and repairs.
- Ensure documentation is in order for audit requirements.
- Assisting warehouse managers in the procurement of site-required items for 3PL (Third Party Logistics).
- Order security-related supplies and equipment as needed.
- Assist and Support Warehouse Managers and/ or following specific external projects as and when required by the company
- Mentor, Coach and develope employees by building individual and teams competencies to meet, set goals and objectives
- Ensure that team and individual performance objectives are in place, aligned wit the company's strategic objectives and that quarterly performance reviews are done.
- Remain up to date with security advancements, technologies, regarding security services.
- Degree in Safety, Security and / or Environment, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in defining and managing Security compliance systems.
- Minimum 5 years in a management position. Security in a Warehousing environment is highly advantageous Extensive experience in preventing illegal activity and performing access control.
- In-depth knowledge of security procedures and surveillance equipment.
- Knowledge of security industry regulations.
- Superb leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong decision-making ability.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
- Meticulous about meeting standards and customer expectations.
- Working knowledge of relevant South African legislation, applicable SANS codes, best practice guidelines and corporate governance.
