Site Accountant

A FMCG giant in Germiston requires an experienced Accountant from a manufacturing environment, understanding the full scope of value chain. The Site Accountant will be working closely with the Site Manager and the Operational Finance Manager to implement cost accounting procedures, mitigate risks and strategise improvements tactics for the department to strive towards, and maintain operational excellence.

Minimum requirement

BCom Accounting Honours, preferred.
SAIPA/CIMA would be an advantage.
Minimum 3 years' experience in FMCG/Manufacturing industry.
Full understanding of the value chain.
Knowledge of ERP system (Microsoft Great plains or equivalent) would be an advantage.
Proficient in Excel (Pivot tables and formulas).

Responsibilities

Co-ordinate and participate in monthly stock take for the Factory.
Ensure that accurate inventory counts are captured on the financial system.
Ensure intercompany loan accounts balance monthly.
Prepare and capture the month-end journals and ensure that month-end closure deadline is met.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
Monthly reporting on expenses and inefficiencies in the value chain
Annual budget preparation
Co-ordinate and participate in annual asset verification.
Review and authorise creditors for payment.
Ensure accurate accounting of manufactured products.
Evaluates proposed capital projects and complete capex request.
Provide support to the Site Manager on ad hoc requests and feasibility study.
Track the financial savings of Continuous Improvement Projects
Prepare and assist with internal audits and external audits.
