The IR Consultant will be responsible for the full spectrum of Labour Relations advisory services at an assortment of clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum: Degree in Human Resources or Industrial psychology, LLB or a related field.
- Advantageous: Relevant post graduate qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the field.
- Solid experience in dismissal procedures, conciliations and arbitrations, drafting policies and contracts.
- Experience representing at the CCMA & Bargaining Councils (Conciliation and Arbitration).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans, enabling effective interaction with clients, service providers, and the team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant administrative tools.
- Proficiency in an African language will be advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of and application of Labour Legislation and applicable codes of good practice.
- Good knowledge and understanding of CCMA rules.
- Good knowledge and understanding of MEIBC and NBCRFLI Bargaining council main agreement.
Operational:
- Responsible for all Labour Relations matters within our client base
- Providing telephonic advice to client base
- Designing and presenting industrial relations training programs
- Investigating, initiating and chairing all forums of termination as well as grievance procedures
- Drafting contracts and agreements
- Consulting trade unions
- Drafting and implementing company policies and procedures
- Representing clients at all forums (CCMA and Bargaining Council)
- Designing Labour Relations newsletters and ensuring clients stay informed of developments in the field.
- Advising clients on Labour Relation matters and providing accompanying strategies and actions
- Conducting compliance audits and submitting reports
- Pro-actively engaging with client base and submitting strategies and proposals to prevent Labour Related risks.
- Liaising with and arranging for Labour Attorney representation
- Liaising with and arranging for specialist Labour Relations advisory services
- Ensuring DigiFortes IR best practice is aligned with case law and legislation requirements.
- Liaise with clients and establish areas of concern and risk and translate the same into practical Labour Relations actions.
- Providing labour relations advisory services to internal client base
- Proving advisory services and interpretations of Labour Legislation, accompanied by strategies that will mitigate IR risks, alternatively that will be aligned with the proposed strategy.
- Ensuring that the necessary Employers organisation registrations are in place.
- Liaising with and submitting relevant notices to applicable councils
- Submitting monthly status reports
- Submitting monthly project billing and expense reports
- Ensuring that client documents are maintained and sent to clients.
- Maintaining and extending the IR solutions database
- Filing of and backing up of relevant documents and evidentiary material
- Assisting the sales team with specialist information, meeting with clients, and input into sales material and proposals
