Required Experience

Minimum of 8-10 years' progressive experience in contracts management specifically within the civil engineering and construction sectors.

Demonstrable track record of managing complex contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JBCC) for large-scale civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, water/wastewater, earthworks, mining infrastructure).
Proven experience in contract drafting, review, negotiation, administration, and dispute resolution.
Expertise in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience with tender processes, subcontractor management, and claims management.
Familiarity with South African construction legal landscape and relevant industry standards (e.g., SANS, CIDB regulations).

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related Built Environment discipline.

Postgraduate qualification in Construction Law, Commercial Law, or an MBA will be a distinct advantage.
Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa), SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions), is highly desirable.

Stakeholder Management: Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with all project participants.
