Ideal candidates will possess a Grade 10/Standard 8 Technical qualification, AET Level 4, and relevant technical support experience in a heavy industry setting. Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10/Standard 8 Technical qualification (Essential/Minimum)
• AET Level 4 certification (Essential/Minimum)
• Completion of one or more Skills Programs: AA Fitting, AA Diesel Mechanic, AA Plater Welder, or AA Electrical (Essential/Minimum)
• Minimum of 1-year applicable technical support experience as a Helper/Operator in a heavy industry environment
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Proficiency in conducting first-level inspections and basic fault-finding on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Capability to assist in both reactive and scheduled maintenance of equipment to ensure availability and reliability
• Ability to adhere to health and safety practices, promote good housekeeping, and rectify unsafe practices
• Skills in welding, cutting, and installation of refractory work

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist skilled artisans in servicing, maintaining, and overhauling machinery to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
• Conduct first-level inspections and perform basic fault-finding on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Support the maintenance of equipment through both reactive and scheduled activities to enhance availability and prevent breakdowns.
• Participate in continuous monitoring and maintenance of production equipment to ensure immediate response to breakdowns and report any issues to the foreman.
• Perform welding, cutting, and the installation of refractory work as part of technical support tasks.
• Adhere to and promote all health and safety practices, ensuring a clean and safe work environment is maintained.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, complying with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) requirements.
• Contribute to reconditioning specified components and spares for installation and test repaired equipment for functionality before it is returned to operation.
• Collaborate with diverse teams, demonstrating creativity, accountability, and adaptability to foster a productive workplace.
