Responsible for the back-end development of scripts to transform data for reporting. Maintaining queries, adding new data sources, automating of data manipulation, and investigating discrepancies.
Data governance to ensure back-end development across different systems delivers accurate data to business.
Required Minimum Education / Training
- Matric
- 7 years development experience
- 2 years experience in report building
- Advanced excel knowledge
- Good understanding of linking data and setting up connections to database
- 6 years experience with SQL
- 7 years in a development / data role
- Creating queries/scripts/tasks to automate the data manipulation needed to setup a data warehouse for the BI environment
- Adjusting queries to run optimally and to all use the same source of information.
- Importing and storing new data sources within the BI environment
- Developing reporting tables by summarizing and linking data, automating queries in SQL.
- Creating business rules aligned with POPPI act to delete / archive older information
- Creating checks to ensure back ups run, jobs for data manipulations run and environment is updated correctly
- Maintenance of the BI databases, clear out tables no longer needed and creating indexes to increase efficiencies
