Classified job announcement for all qualified applicants. Applications must be submitted no later than Tuesday, December 16, 2025. 5.9 hours per day /178 days per year/Salary Grade 11 - $ 25.04 per hour (Support Salary Table 2025-2026) [Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase]Under the direction of the Tiered Supports Coordinator(s), the Attendance Specialist supports the tiered supports team and schools address attendance concerns. They will work largely with families, in coordination with schools, to help families overcome barriers to attendance. This position is funded by the Utah State Board of Educations Stronger Connections grant. It is an annual position that runs three years (until 2026 though we plan to apply to additional funding) Essential Job Functions: 1. Schedule and conduct home visits of students identified by school administrators and the tiered supports coordinator. 2. Connect families with other personnel in the school who can provide support to improve attendance. 3. Maintain a log of visits and interactions with families. 4. Provide follow-up support to students and families visited and track progress of student attendance. 5. Coordinate regularly with district tiered supports team members on implementation of attendance interventions. 6. Participate in meetings with schools to coordinate supports to students and families. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship skills. 2. Strong organizational and management skills. 3. Computer skills to include a working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite as well as databases such as Encore. 4. Bachelors degree in education or greater required. (In education preferred). 5. At least 3 years K-12 experience preferred. 6. Drivers license required.
