Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our research team. The successful candidate will assist with various laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, equipment maintenance, data entry, and general lab upkeep. The Laboratory Assistant will work closely with researchers and technicians to ensure that experiments are conducted efficiently and accurately.

Tasks
  • Prepare and organize laboratory materials, including chemicals, reagents, and equipment.
  • Assist with sample collection, processing, and analysis under the supervision of senior laboratory staff.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring that they are clean, calibrated, and in good working condition.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Document experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in data entry, analysis, and interpretation using computer software and databases.
  • Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize laboratory workflows.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe laboratory environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant scientific discipline, such as biology, chemistry, or biomedical science.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and procedures.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in the laboratory.
