Role: Regional Service & Maintenance Technician

Location: Maidstone

Salary: 28, 500 pa

Hours: Full time 40 hrs per week, working 5 days out of 7

This is no ordinary maintenance role.

This is a critical role, providing absence cover (sickness/holiday etc) for our Maintenance Technicians across NRS depots along the Southeast coast of England which will involve regular travel and overnight stays.

You will be an essential part of our NRS maintenance team who maintain and repair community equipment in predominantly domestic settings. This equipment is supplied to vulnerable people, to allow them to remain independent in their homes, allowing the NHS and Social Services to deliver frontline care where it is needed most.

This equipment and the service you will provide is a lifeline to many vulnerable people, and you will ensure that everything is working as it should, providing reassurance to our clients that their equipment will work when they need it most.

Although the job may be challenging at times, what you will gain in abundance is satisfaction and pride in the knowledge that you are genuinely making a difference to vulnerable people in your community.

Youll benefit from training for this role, but a maintenance/technical background is important to set you on the right path.

You will also need to have a kind and empathetic nature as many of the clients you will visit are classed as vulnerable. You may also at times visit clients who are receiving end-of-life care, so you will also need to be resilient when faced with difficult circumstances.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Undertake repairs, service and maintenance of community equipment including profiling beds, hoists, pressure care equipment and other daily living aids, predominately within service user's properties in depots across the Southeast of England
  • Consult appropriately with the Customer Service department for call outs, repairs, emergencies.
  • Ensure all parts used are accounted and recorded correctly
  • Apply good standards of mechanical/technical practice at all times, when conducting all aspects of work.
  • Covering local shift patterns

About You
  • Ability to travel and stay away from home on a regular basis.
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Proactive individual with general maintenance/technical experience
  • Diligent and thorough with an excellent eye for attention to detail
  • PDA literate - we will provide you with full training on our systems
  • Be confident in lifting and carrying heavy loads
  • Full driving licence held for a minimum of 3 years
  • Organised with great time management
  • A good communicator, resilience when needed and an empathetic nature as you will be dealing with members of the public
  • To have experience of PAT & LOLER Testing is an advantage but full training is provided
  • Need to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 due to the nature of the role
