Marine Motorman Level 2

We are seeking a Level 2 Marine Motorman for a small to medium-sized squid fishing vessel in Port Elizabeth.

New Remuneration Rates

• Monthly retainer R9, 911
• Commission [URL Removed] per kg caught by himself
• Additional Commission [URL Removed] per ton caught by the whole vessel

Duties And Responsibilities

• The position will report directly to the skipper.
• Duties shall include but are not limited to: fishing, supervision of packing fish, all engineering-related checks & duties (e.g. ensuring spares such as fan belts, and oils in the engine room), general repairs including electrical checks on board the entire vessel, keeping engine room clean & orderly, monitoring of fuel levels & freshwater levels as well as any other lawful instructions issued by the Skipper.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be certified by SAMSA
• Able to fish and be in charge of teams.
• Must be technical-minded and come from a technical background
• Ability to multitask
• Candidate must be able to follow orders from Skipper
