Objective of the role:
The Cyber Safety Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing AGAs Cyber Safety Operations Center, any cyber incident response and ensuring the continuous monitoring, and detection of threats and vulnerabilities that may affect AGA. This key leadership role involves managing a team of skilled cyber security analysts, implementing robust security measures, and developing proactive strategies to protect the organization from cyber impact threats. The Cyber Safety Operations Manager must exhibit strong leadership and technical competencies to effectively defend against potential security breaches.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage the Security Operations Center, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive security strategies, incident response plans, and threat hunting methodologies to safeguard the organization's digital assets.
  • Oversee the 24/7 monitoring and analysis of security events and incidents, ensuring timely identification, escalation, and resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, OT, and risk management, to integrate security practices and enhance incident response capabilities.
  • Monitor security alerts and threat intelligence sources to proactively identify potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments and penetration tests to assess the organization's overall security posture.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, law enforcement agencies, and industry peers to stay informed about emerging threats and best practices.
Required General Knowledge and Experience:
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in cyber security, with a focus on Security Operations Center management and incident response.
  • Willing to travel by air or ground.
  • At least 2 years of experience with the full Microsoft Security Stack.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, laws, and regulations.
Technical Competencies:
  • Create, review, fine-tune Security Analytic Rules
  • Proficiency in security incident management and response.
  • Strong understanding of how all components of within the Microsoft security stack and how to protect the infrastructure.
  • Experience in implementing security automation using automation rules and logic apps implementing orchestration to improve incident response efficiency.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and practices.
  • Ability to develop and maintain security score metrics from internal and external evaluation. Ability to deliver, analyze and develop strategic actions on investigation report as well as operational statistics.
Leadership and Management Competencies:
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of security professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations, make critical decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking capabilities.
  • Experience in budget management and capacity for the SOC operations.
  • As the SOC Head, you will play a critical role in strengthening the organization's cyber defenses and protecting its sensitive information from potential threats. Your leadership and technical expertise will ensure the SOC's effectiveness and ability to respond promptly to any security incidents.
In Addition, You Bring
  • Completed relevant higher vocational or university education
  • Microsoft Security accreditation and certificates.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cyber Operations with demonstratable knowledge on how to reduce OT Cyber risk effectively across multiple operations.
  • A strong background in one or more of the following domains: Industrial manufacturing, Oil & Gas, or Mining.
  • Passionate Interest in all things Cyber Security
  • The ability to articulate risk modelling and able to communicate technical concepts in simple terms both verbally and in written reports.
  • Fluent in English with an added advantage if you are fluent in either Portuguese, Spanish or French.
