Role reports to: Packaging Lead

What You Will Do

Responsible for assembling and/or producing products according to detailed manufacturing processes. Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Broad Purpose / Function:

• Ensures GMP, EHS and quality requirements are met in the area of work
• Actively participates in the identification and implementation of continuous improvements initiatives. Ensure wastages are minimized and packaging costs contained.
• Ensure GMP, EHS and Quality compliance during the execution of the Production Plan and all related tasks.
• Ensure that production line and equipment housekeeping is maintained to standard and pharmaceutical industry expectations. This includes strip down, cleaning and reassembling of equipment and relevant production area.
• Perform minor settings and autonomous maintenance and operation of equipment in accordance with approved SOPs and WIs.
• Ensure that all documentation required for the release of a batch are completed on time and accurately in order to service the customer when required and meet quality standards and pharmaceutical expectations.
• Participate in root cause investigation and problem solving activities.
• Hourly tracking of output against set targets.
• Updating of Visual Performance Measurements in production line.
• Ensure components and bulks are staged and signed on, with necessary checklists completed.
• Assist with material handling and component checks when required.
• Provide training when required.
• Support and participate in the Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
• Support Production Fitters with major breakdowns.

Required Qualifications

What we are looking for

• Education: Matric Certificate
• Production experience is essential
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Packaging preferably from FMCG/Pharma industry
• Technical aptitude and mechanical ability is advantageous
• Good problem-solving skills
• Shift work and overtime may be required when necessary
• Manual dexterity
