Project Manager

A Project Manager is sought by our client who is a leading boat manufacturer in Africa. The role will be based in our clients office in Cape Town.

Job Summary

The Project Manager will execute New Product Development projects in the Leopard Model Strategy within time and in budget. Developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability including coordination of people, processes, projects organization, and timeline.

The Manager will prevent scope creep while also managing individual tasks for their respective teams with keen attention to detail to minimise any risk.

Our client is a leading and respected player in vessel construction and they are looking to recruit a Project Manager.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Qualification
  • Minimum: Diploma in Project Management/engineering.
  • Ideal Qualification: Btech or related degree
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years experience related to Project Management within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
  • Experience or an interest in sailing or boats would be advantageous.
  • Ability to perform on a strategic level within the operation.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects.
  • Have a background in business skills, management, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Ability to compile complex Project Plans on Microsoft Project.
  • Capable of training, supervising, and managing staff.
  • Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Excellent reporting skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office programs and in particular Microsoft Projects.
  • Needs to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.
  • Good Adobe Creative Suite skills.
  • Multilingualism would be advantageous especially European languages: French, Spanish & German.
Competencies:
  • Ability to plan and organize self and teams to achieve deliverables.
  • An excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Should be able to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Decision making, problem solving, and deadline driven.
