Job Description
Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Duty Manager for its Risk operations in the Agriculture division. The successful incumbent will contribute to the Loss Control service by ensuring that company assets are protected and safety requirements are adhered to at all times. This position reports to the Loss Control Manager and holds the TASK Grade T06. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a Grade 12 Certificate, First Aid Level 2, registered at PRISA with a Security Grade C, Drivers Licence with PDP and minimum of three (3) years Security experience.
Responsibilities
- Compile preliminary reports.
- Ensure that property of the company is protected from theft, fire or other damage by means of site inspections.
- Regular staff inspections.
- Transport and deployment of security guards to necessary sites.
- Attend to fence alarms and general complaints and issues.
- Monitor asset movement.
- Manage an Occurrence Book and Vehicle Register.
- Do random audits on catching, thinning operations and do mortality checks to establish adherence to SOPs.
- Attend to all alarms and perform a support function when we do have an emergency on all facilities.
- Complete Occurrence Book and Vehicle Register on a daily basis.
- Report all incidents to Loss Control Manager immediately.
- Ability to lead and supervise people.
- Good administrative ability.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to investigate and report on cases.
- Good analytical skills.
