Purpose of Position:

To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches.

Requirements:

BSc Degree Microbiology / Degree in Bachelor of Science Medical Laboratory Sciences (Required), HPCSA registration as Scientist / Technologist (Required)

Required Experience:

Experience in pathology laboratory environment, Knowledge: Ampath QC procedures, Knowledge: Instrumentation and Methodologies, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: MS Windows, Knowledge: relevant pathology test procedures, Knowledge of Ampath Safety, Health and Environment management policy

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with Switchboard functions in order to correctly refer client requests, Assist with training client service employees to ensure competence, Implement safety and emergency procedures to ensure safe/ continues working conditions., Maintain good client relations to promote the professional image of Ampath., Maintain provider and route dictionaries., Perform departmental administrative tasks.
