Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a Commercial Lawyer with substantial experience in commercial law, along with a strong understanding of Tax Law and Company Law. Duties And Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and enforce commercial and other legal documents to safeguard our legal rights and provide expert advice thereon.
- Prepare comprehensive regulatory submissions advocating for favorable tax policies beneficial to client and organizational interests.
- Advise on all commercial matters within the organization, ensuring comprehensive legal support.
- Provide clear and concise legal guidance, advising at all organizational levels on complex legal issues ranging from contract negotiations to litigations and beyond.
- Act as legal counsel on a daily basis, addressing diverse legal challenges promptly and effectively.
- Offer legal insight and guidance on new product and feature development initiatives.
- Supervise legal matters necessitating external legal assistance, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational objectives.
- Identify, research, analyze, and advise on relevant regulatory requirements in South Africa and other jurisdictions, translating findings into actionable business solutions.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the internal legal department through the identification and implementation of process improvements, forms updates, and operational enhancements.
- Minimum BCom and BA LLB Degree.
- Post graduate LLM in Taxation.
- Admitted Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
- Articles from a reputable firm.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of Company Tax.
- Have demonstrable experience as a Commercial Lawyer with a track record in a similar environment.
- Excellent Planning, Prioritizing and Organizing abilities.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must have managerial ability to oversee 3 or more other professional lawyers.
