As a senior video journalist, you'll be responsible for producing short and long-form narrative stories. We want a journalist confident in shooting and field-producing in various environments under tight deadlines - someone with experience in autonomously creating pieces from pitch to publication using high-quality video and a wide range of editing techniques.
Role Requirements And Attributes
- Cultivate a diary with original story ideas that are deeply reported and have a layered visual treatment
- Pitch, develop, shoot and edit projects
- Excellent English-language writing: you'll be expected to draft voiceover scripts, subtitles, headlines, and captions.
- Rich research and interviewing skills
- An advanced-level understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience working collaboratively and reporting across a wide range of topics: short breaking news videos may be expected on occasion
- Monitor local and international news sources to identify stories for News24
- Be able to work nights and weekends when required: occasional travel may be required
- Relevant tertiary qualification in journalism/media studies.
- At least 5 years experience in a digital or video news environment.
- Additional film editing and motion graphic qualifications will be advantageous
- A valid driver's license
