- Planning, creating, implementing, controlling and scheduling of design tasks.
- Ensure that all standard operating procedures and design processes are followed.
- Create and implement new standard operating procedures and design processes as needed.
- Ensure best operating practices are implemented and that continuous improvement is embedded within the department.
- Ensure that design progress is maintained on an on-going basis.
- Provide design support to the Engineer in the development process.
- 3D modelling and creation of working drawings according to company's standard. (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks)
- Creation of 3D models & drawings from 'off the sample' parts & selected sub-assemblies.
- Preparation of manufacturing project files.
- Creation of hydraulic schematic drawings.
- Acquisition of components in-house or from subcontractors.
- Technical assistance during the assembly process on the workshop floor.
- Mechanical Draughting or Engineering Diploma.
- Good understanding of mechanical systems and their function.
- Able to work independently or interactively as a member of a team.
- Self-motivated with creative and innovative mind.
- Proficient with different measuring tools (micrometer, vernier caliper, measuring tape)
- Good communication skills (verbal, written & interpersonal).
- Eager to work in the marine engineering field
