About the role
We are hiring a Junior Moodle & IT Support Assistant to support both Moodle and basic internal tech needs. This is an ideal opportunity if youre digitally confident, good with people, and want to build experience in educational technology and light IT support.
Youll provide entry-level support for our Moodle-based platforms and assist colleagues with simple tech issues like printer connections, logins, and email troubleshooting. No specialist qualifications are required well provide on-the-job training. All you need is a service mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
What Youll Do
Support and user assistance
- Respond to basic support queries (e.g. login issues, password resets, enrolments)
- Assist instructors with uploading files, editing course content, or setting up basic activities
- Help log issues for follow-up or escalate them to technical staff
- Join client meetings or training sessions and take notes
- Duplicate courses and apply templates
- Support course cleanup or archiving at semester end
- Help maintain and update internal help guides and checklists
- Send out follow-up materials after onboarding or training sessions
- Track training attendance or send reminders
- Assist in preparing Zoom links and documents for virtual sessions
- Help staff connect printers, troubleshoot printing errors, or replace cartridges
- Assist with WiFi, email setup, and password resets
- Log and track IT support queries using internal checklists
- Set up basic hardware for new staff (e.g. plug in monitors, connect peripherals)
- Follow up on IT help requests and ensure timely updates
Enjoy solving technical issues for others
Have experience using any LMS (Moodle, Google Classroom, MS Teams, etc.)
Are comfortable with Word, Excel, Google Docs, and online platforms
Communicate clearly and politely in writing and on calls
Are looking to build a career in educational technology or digital client support
Requirements
Required Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate (National Senior Certificate)
- Either:
- A relevant certificate/diploma (IT, Office Admin, Education) or
- 6+ months experience in any digital/admin/support role (even internships)
- Good basic computer literacy
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) , Afrikaans (read and understand)
- Exposure to Moodle or similar LMS
- Experience in customer service, helpdesk, or online learning
- Familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams, or H5P
- Any coursework from Moodle Academy
- You follow instructions carefully and work consistently
- You ask for help when needed and enjoy learning new systems
- You take pride in getting the details right
- You enjoy helping users and being part of a team
