Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to grow their culinary skills under experienced chefs.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with daily food preparation and basic cooking duties
- Support senior chefs in executing menu items to DairyBelle standards
- Prepare ingredients (washing, chopping, portioning, and storing)
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
- Ensure correct food handling, storage, and stock rotation
- Help with plating and presentation of dishes
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and workstations
- Follow kitchen procedures and health & safety regulations
- Assist with stock control and minimize food waste
- Work efficiently as part of a team during busy service periods
- Ability to produce quality products in a timely and efficient manner
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment
- Possibility of oversight at a second restaurant
- Applicants must be well spoken and fluent in English
- Experience within the restaurant environment will be valued
Skills & Requirements
- Basic culinary knowledge or formal culinary training (advantageous)
- Strong willingness to learn and take instruction
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
