Job Summary:
Are you an experienced production professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This is an entry-level leadership role perfect for someone with a strong background on the production floor who has demonstrated leadership potential and is eager to develop their management skills. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to help you succeed as you learn to oversee a production team, ensure targets are met, and uphold our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Oversight: Supervise a team of production operators, assigning daily tasks and coordinating workflow to meet production schedules.
- Training & Development: Assist in training new and existing employees on standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Target Achievement: Monitor team performance to ensure production targets for quality, efficiency, and timeliness are consistently met.
- Safety Compliance: Champion a culture of safety by enforcing all health and safety regulations (OHS Act), conducting daily safety checks, and reporting any incidents or hazards immediately.
- Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks on the production line to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Act as the first point of contact for the team to resolve minor operational issues and escalate more complex problems to the Production Manager.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, logs, and reports on team performance, output, and attendance.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 1 - 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Leadership Potential: While direct supervisor experience is not required, candidates must demonstrate leadership potential. Experience as a team lead, trainer, or senior operator is highly advantageous.
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) is essential. Experience in Production and Operations or a related field is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills: A solid understanding of production processes, quality control principles, and workplace safety.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
- The ability to remain calm and make assertive decisions under pressure.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Other: Basic computer literacy (MS Office). Must be willing to work overtime if required (Not often).
