Junior Software Engineer

Role Overview

As a Developer at Infolytics, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying custom business process automation solutions primarily within the Zoho ecosystem. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teamssuch as Consultants, Project Managers, and Support Specialiststo ensure our clients enjoy a seamless experience and maximize ROI on their Zoho investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Development & Integration
• Customize and enhance Zoho applications (e.g., Zoho CRM, Zoho Creator, Zoho Books, Zoho People, etc.) using Zohos native scripting language (Deluge) and APIs.
• Integrate Zoho apps with third-party systems and services to streamline business processes.
• Collaborate with the Implementation and Optimization teams to identify automation opportunities and eliminate manual processes.
• Technical Analysis & Architecture
• Work closely with clients and internal business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design efficient data models and workflows within Zoho ecosystem to meet project goals.
• Quality Assurance & Testing
• Write clean, optimised, and well-documented code.
• Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to maintain system stability and performance.
• Implement best coding and deployment practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaboration & Support
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during development and implementation.
• Work with the Training and Support teams to address post-deployment issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Continuous Improvement
• Stay updated with the latest Zoho features, functionalities, and best practices.
• Proactively recommend innovative improvements to existing systems and processes.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Educational Background
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Technical Proficiency
• Experience developing and customising applications within the Zoho ecosystem (Deluge scripting, APIs, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular (beneficial for integration tasks).
• Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs and third-party integrations.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
• Ability to analyse business requirements, design technical architecture, and implement robust solutions.
• Strong debugging skills and a track record of delivering efficient, maintainable code.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Work Ethic & Adaptability
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven to learn new technologies.
• Organized and capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Preferred/Bonus Skills
• Experience with Zoho Creator, Zoho Flow, or similar low-code/no-code platforms.
• Knowledge of database design and SQL.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience integrating with South African/B2B payment gateways, SMS services, or local business systems.
