Human Resources Director Southern African Cluster

Your Role

As the preeminent Human Resources Director role within the Southern African Cluster encompassing South Africa and Namibia, assumes a pivotal position in orchestrating the people-centric strategies essential for accomplishing overarching business objectives. Functioning as a strategic business partner, HR Director collaborates closely with the Managing Director and peers within the National Leadership Team, establishing a critical nexus between human capital management and organizational success. With overarching responsibility, HR Director oversees the entire HR function across diverse business units and geographical locations within the Cluster.

Your Responsibilities
  • Create and implement the HR Strategy for the Cluster based on the global and regional HR strategy as well as the business requirements of the countries in the Cluster and collaborate with the business to fully understand the key business objectives and drivers, and associated people requirements for both the current and future business challenges and delivering a country wide road-map for its delivery.
  • Deliver HR initiatives to the Clusters countries which contribute to achieving excellence in the delivery of business and people management.
  • Lead the cultural change process and share expertise across the organization to build consistent and standardised Human Resources solutions and best practices.
  • Coach/ advise managers in the implementation of recruitment and selection, performance management, employee relations, change management and organizational development processes and facilitate timely delivery. Ensure the evaluation and assessment of activities and solutions which ensure that local business needs are met.
  • Creates, implements, and executes, in cooperation with the Talent Sourcing Center, a recruitment strategy aligned to the business strategy & requirements.
  • Focus on local talent to meet statutory requirements and ensure connection to local markets.
  • Lead and drive the annual performance enablement process and ensure the necessary quality of goal setting and regular performance feedback.
  • Introduces processes which ensure the setup of the organization is fully compliant with each countrys law and internal regulations and handle the Statutory / Legal Human Resources requirements as per local rules and regulations.
  • Plan, develop and implement Compensation and Benefits policy and programs that are internally equitable and externally competitive with the overall aim of attracting and retaining high quality personnel and minimising employee turnover and update salary budget and plans, cost management, incentives programs and annual salary review.
Your Skills And Experiences
  • Extensive experience in all fields of HR as Generalist & at least one specialist fields of HR.
  • At least 10 years experience in Human Resources, minimum of 5 years as Manager.
  • Experience in setting-up or re-positioning the HR function advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of local market, requirements, laws and regulations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into a HR strategy and deliverables.
  • Business acumen associated with working at National Board level required.
  • Ability to position HR and its solutions with peers at National Board level.
  • Can deal with sometimes conflicting requests and opinions from different stakeholders.
  • Thinks in alternative approaches and solutions, comfortable to think outside the box.
