We are seeking experienced freelance French language professionals to support our open-access scholarly publishing programme on a project-by-project basis.
Freelance Services Required
- Pre-editing (formatting, compliance, completeness checks)
- Copy-editing (language, grammar, clarity, style)
- Substantive editing (structural and scholarly refinement)
- Proofreading (final checks after typesetting)
- Native or near-native command of French (African)
- Proven experience in academic or scholarly editing (journals, books, theses)
- Strong knowledge of academic referencing styles (APA, Chicago, Vancouver, etc.)
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Sensitivity to scholarly voice and disciplinary conventions
